Honoring a Brother Through a Bequest
As long ago as 1993, Harry Creemers '74 and Dr. Martha Groblewski, Harry's wife, began to contribute annually to a scholarship in the name of Harry's brother, John, who died at the age of 39 of a rare form of colon cancer. The annual gifts for the scholarships come from a trust fund that will be used to set up an endowed scholarship in John's name through a bequest. Harry was very close to his brother and admired him greatly. John was a gentle person and an animal lover; he was thrifty and unpretentious and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Such attributes of simplicity and stability will have an impact on student recipients of the scholarship for years to come.
You also may want to make it easy and convenient to have a bequest included in your will. The language below shows how a bequest can very easily be included in your will.
